Background: You play William J. “B.J.” Blazkowicz and are sent by F.D.R. into Nazi Germany to infiltrate Hitler’s secret bunkers and stop the chemical weapons programs and kill Hitler himself. Just a day at the office for Blazkowicz. This is the first hit 3D shooter which inspired Doom and Duke Nukem. You must complete a total of 6 missions which comprise several missions each. At the end of the mission you must defeat the boss to continue. Along the way you pick up a shotgun, gatling gun, flame thrower, rocket launcher, food, and treasure.
Game Play: First of all the graphics are not the latest and in no way compare to the graphics on Doom. That is why the game does not get a higher rating, however you must remember that this game was created many years ago. This is a great port of the game and includes all the blood and guts in the original that were cut out of other versions. Also the game includes added weapons just for the Jag. At first the I did not care for the trip down memory lane. The music got old quickly and just repeated itself during a level and it just was not challenging enough. But then I turned up the level difficulty to the highest setting and the game became much more fun. I do enjoy the game and am glad that it was added to the Jaguar library.
