Defender 2000
Background: In this update of the classic video game there are three modes including Classic Defender (true to the original), Defender Plus (adding friendly droids and meaner aliens, and the namesake, Defender 2000 (adding tons of powerups and bonus warp sessions). In Defender you must protect your miners as they get much needed resources with your Ship.  Equipped with lasers and smart bombs you must defend against a whole host of aliens.Game Play: This game shines in every mode.  Classic Defender is just a great port of the original.  Defender Plus enlarges the ship and aliens and puts in a psychedelic background.  You can choose to have up to two droids accompany you.  Here the action is fast paced and you have rapid fire. The square transport gates look a little out of place, but otherwise the game is quite fun.  Defender 2000 is the granddaddy of them all!  At first the ship seems too big, compared to Classic Defender, but once you get used to that you get sucked into the game play.  The powerups really improve the game play and improve your chances – droids, shields, extra lasers, and  warp.  The warp sequences also provide a nice breakup of the fast and furious game play.  The music is phenomenal and really gets your blood pumping.  The graphics are good, but the sound effects are excellent.  You here your little people yelling as they get shot.

Overall this game is excellent.  Once you start you won’t stop for a long, long time.Pros: fast action, sound, poseurs, multiple play modes, pure gaming bliss
Cons: What, no Sequel!
